The next RT kickstarter

Unread post by Kryptt »

I'm curious. With everything that has gone down as far as delays, information/misinformation, expectation management, model quality, lack of communication, and any other issue this project has will you folks still back the next robotech kickstarter? After seeing the posts on the failed RTA kickstarter and on rt.com I'm sure it will get funded. It may not be as successful as the macross ks but I'm sure the fans will come through.

Maybe and Undecided seem redundant.

Also, there's a lot of granularity here. Not just Yes, No, or Maybe, but also for more, equal or less than was contributed during the campaign, and tied to whether or not it's just the second series, or both the second and third.

Despite what I consider a negative experience, I would say "maybe', but as a group that got 8 battle cry boxes between the 3 of us, I imagine we'd all be more likely to go for whatever "battle cry" equivalent was available apiece, so probably half our contribution or less. Having maybe a squad or two (or just a support 'half squad') of each thing apiece, rather than full squads to spare. Enough to play small games, not enough to play giant ones.

Where's the option for "No - but I'll put in a dollar so I can say everything there that I can't say here!" ?

Because, you know it's going to happen. Going. To. Happen.

Due to my finances I can not participate in any kick-starters.

I would if it is Master's era.
Not that such is my favourite era to watch, but it IS my favourite RT setting to game in.
As such there are at least a few models I want from that era.

I might be less inclined if it is the more-popular New Generation/Shadow Chronicles era.

I agree that the poll would be more interesting if we could see if people are going to spend more, the same, or less.

I will definitely fund it again, but how much will depend on a few things:
1-If it is Masters Saga I will only kick in a little. Enough for a few Hover Tanks and maybe an Ajacs or two. I have no interest in the rest.

2-If it is Shadow Chronicles/New Generation it will depend on how they handle scale between human sized mechs and the giant one. If it looks good I might go in for another giant order.

3-If I find that I can not stand painting all the minis I am getting then I probably won't by too many more.

I think all of this is just academic though. As bad an experience as some of the backers think this has been for them it seems to me (from the outside) to have been a miserable time sucking waste for PB and I don't know that they will go this route again.
