Possibly an unworkable but 'awesome' idea

As a plastic model builder, I would looove to see Rifts models. Coalition stuff, etc.

I'm guessing that would be a cool but not possible idea...

Right?

I thought they still have some of the old metal miniatures for sale. Though new ones would be cool.

They do still have some of the old minis available.

I am personally anxious to get my hands on the Robotech stuff.

I would love to see a Rifts plastic minis line. If Palladium ran it like the Bones kickstarter, they might be able to pull it off.

I think at this point they are going to wait and see how popular the robotech stuff is going forward if it is popular it would in theory be pretty simple using those associations to make rifts minis from the same place but now that they seem pretty well back on their feet now is not the time to over extend.

while it would be cool to see some of the awesome designs in mini form, I can't fathom any kickstarter with Palladium attached would be anything but a disaster.

TBH, as much as I would like to see a line of quality 28mm models, I think 1:35 or 1:56 plastic kits would be more successful. They would need to be expensive though. The designs aren't well known enough to produce in quantities that would make them cheap. Industria Mechanika would be a good example of a company working in these kinds of models.

I Mega-Agree with that, which is the equivalent of agreeing 100x.

The thing is, I don't even want GOOD plastic minis. I want something that I can buy in bulk, for cheap.
I can get 144 Army Men for $4.
I can get 144 Cowboys & Indians for $5.67.

I'd love for Kevin to contact one one of the companies that makes that kind of thing, and work out some kind of deal with them.
They wouldn't even need to be marketed to gamers, just the same kind of kids who buy the army men and cowboys and such. That'd increase brand awareness, creating new generations of Rifts fans, AND it would give gamers something to work with.

I suppose that it would be technically possible.

I think the way to start it would be for Palladium to get in on the market for Robotech models, then expand to include their own mecha and bots.
Or to find whoever is making Robotech models, and convince them that there's a market for Rifts models as well.

BUT I wouldn't hold my breath.
