Re: Question from a Noob
Technically, just about anything in Palladium is compatible with anything else, but there are some "universes" that are better as self-contained entities. Beyond the Supernatural is not necessarily self-contained, but there are some modifications that may need to be made to non-BtS materia...

Re: BTS Carpenter Game
It sounds entertaining. I would note, though, that based on the classes as listed, the Nightbane will be considerably more powerful than any of the other characters. Just keep that in mind when you are working on balancing encounters or building the other characters.

Re: Channeller Question: How is the Source Affected?
When speaking of a powerful Guardian, my thought is that this Guardian is one of the Elders, possibly one of the ones that resides in or around the Void in the Astral Plane. The channeler's source should absolutely not be a PC, as the power level necessary to even provide the ability would be inappr...

Re: Ordinary Person 1 or 2-shot
Another one of the "dangers" are snotty teenagers who decided to dare others to go to a haunted house, and think that the events of Carrie were a good idea since psychic abilities aren't real.
Thank you both for the suggestions.

Re: Ordinary Person 1 or 2-shot
A lot of how your adventure(s) go depends on the characters. I would definately have them encounter some sort of supernatural force, just a weaker one. This will help them deal with Dark Day better. Does this group have access to weapons? Equipment? Why are they encountering supernatural? Are they ...

Ordinary Person 1 or 2-shot
I am working on putting together a campaign that is likely to develop in a Nightbane campaign. But it opens up pre-Dark Day. For those unfamiliar with the setting, Dark Day was a cataclysmic event where the whole world went completely dark and the major villains 'crossed over'. This event also trigg...

Re: Question concerning alignments in BTS-2 book
The thing about Anarchist is that they are not generally 'evil'. They are more about doing things for their own benefit. An Anarchist character who wants some money might think about strong-arming someone or beating them up, but probably not killing someone. They are all about looking out for number...

Re: How to handle ISP bursts
Thanks all,
I will see how to go about working in these suggestions. I think adding the 'adrenaline surge' as a known aspect may enhance some parts of our game.

How to handle ISP bursts
As well known, when characters get closer to supernatural creatures or situations, their ISP multiplies. How do you typically handle this when you are trying to keep the fact that the supernatural is not involved? (e.g., the investigation is a dead end, there is no supernatural influence, they are f...

Re: Point Buy System/Playing on a Grid
A couple of questions. 1. Does Palladium have a Point Buy System for Attributes? Instead of rolling you buy your stats like Pathfinder. If nothing official any fan made ones? 2. If you are playing on a 1 inch/5 foot grid how do translates speed into squares? Thank You 1. I don't think Palladium tra...

I go for both. Lot of creepy stuff happening at home. Turns out the cause of it is some nutjob thinks the good old days (Old Ones) were really just that good, so keeps opening 'doors'.

Re: Mental Affinity vs. Player Characters
You really have to decide whether or not Social Rules = Mind Control for your games. If they do, then tell the players they're at the mercy of their fellow PC. If they don't, go with the idea that they can be influenced, and it's their responsibility to roleplay that, but ultimately their decisions...

Mental Affinity vs. Player Characters
I know that Mental Affinity and Physical Beauty are not well defined in terms of their effects. But my game has a character with an MA of 27 (massive god roll made in my presence). The player of this character wants to utilize his MA in a leadership capacity, essentially trying to force characters i...

Two Questions: Diviners and Lore Skills
I have been running a game for the last few months, with the most sensitive individual being a Diviner (now 2nd level) with his chosen psychic abilities as Sixth Sense and Clairvoyance. My concern is that I may not be giving the player the full benefit of his class. Specifically, I'm not sure how an...

Re: drop damage?
Presumably, there would be some form of padding or other barrier inside the armor between the outer shell and the personthat might help absorb a majority of the fall damage. This might help disperse some of the damage around the armor.

Re: Non Mega-Hero Natural Genius
To follow up on that, then, how do I keep the Genius from completely outclassing any individual Hardware character? RAW states that while the HW special skills are unique and can go over 98%, others with similar skills can try to make devices with their skills, such as EE and ME. The disadvantage fo...

Non Mega-Hero Natural Genius
One of my players really wants to play a Natural Genius type character. I think the 'class' as written is far too powerful as I am looking more for a street level game. I tried suggesting Hardware, but the player is more interested in the 'skills' rather than 'gadgets', so I've been trying to figure...

Specifically, they are able to potentially duplicate anything once they get their hands on it and possibly make modifications, but in terms of creating new gear, they are only able to build new armor and jammin...

That is pretty much the case. A cyber-knight with only cyber-armor is generally in trouble when dealing with MD weapons. This is why they tend to wear other armor as well.

For the leader, perhaps have him/her be an old/former hero who is injured or otherwise is physically unable to go on any mission. Perhaps also with the feeling that with one person observing/supporting from a distance, it will be safer.

Re: Glitter Boy vs SAMAS
I am guessing it would be standard loadout. Like I said, I was just going with the 'fluff' language as it was described. These would probably also refer to the older versions rather than the upgraded ones. This has been helpful, though, especially as it helps me see the debate from both sides.

Glitter Boy vs SAMAS
It is mentioned in the books that Glitter Boys are slow and ponderous and that a pair of SAMAS should be able to easily take that out. But I guess I don't understand GB combat well enough to see how the slowness is shown. The way it is described, a GB can fire by dropping its pylons and retracting t...
